Animation Master Class with Adriana Ronquillo

Manjm - Haifa Culture lab is delighted to host multidisciplinary Mexican artist, Adriana Ronquillo, for an animation masterclass!

What to expect?

  • A hybrid animation workshop that combines theory with practice.
  • The duration will be 4 hours.
  • The workshop will combine traditional and digital animation, and participants will make a precinematrographic object.

The workshop is open for everyone, regardless of their artistic/practical/theoretical experience, especially for adults interested in arts, animation, design and music.

At the end of the workshop, we will hold a public screening of Adrianna’s two short films.  (20 minutes each).

Adriana’s bio

Adriana Ronquillo is a multidisciplinary artist and loves drawing. In her work, she reflects over the conflictive relationship between humans and nature, the modern and traditional.

Adriana Ronquillo is a multidisciplinary artist and loves drawing. In her work, she reflects over the conflictive relationship between humans and nature, the modern and traditional.

Her work was part of the official selection at CANNES Film Fest in France (2014); International Environmental Film Fest (FINCA) in Argentina; ANIMASIVO (Mexico); Guanajuato International Film Fest (GIFF); and Antartica’s International Film Festi about Environment and Sustainability in Chile (FICAMS). Throughout 2014-2017, Adriana has presented her work and gave conferences in more than 50 occasions in different forums, museums and universities in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

In 2015, she received the year-long Jóvenes Creadores (Young Artists) grant from the National Fund of Culture in Mexico. Her work received many recognitions, such as first prize at the Think Forward Film Fest Venecia; Ojo Latinoamericano award at Bolivia’s International Human Rights Festival; first prize at Animation Day in Mexico.

Adriana holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She studied animation at the Honschule fur Kunst (HFK) in Bremen Germany, and Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at School for Painting, Sculpture and Engraving (La Esmeralda) in Mexico.
